Paint Nights for kids with Creative Canvas
Kids and Klay (8-16)
Learn how to handbuild and decorate fun projects from clay in this 3 session program. Presented by the Fort Saskatchewan Pottery Guild
Children will be instructed in pencil initially, studying different ways to make lines, proportions and shading. They will also be taught how to use pastels, watercolour and acrylic paint. Subjects will range from cartoons, figures, still life and nature. (All supplies included)
Landscapes in Pastel Adult Art Classes This exciting primer on creating with soft pastel (chalk) introduces you to the fundamentals of working with this luscious medium. You will learn solid steps needed to build a variety of landscape subjects, from blocking in with vine charcoal to layering up with rich colours. Two different papers with their unique qualities for producing expressive work will be used as well as some exploration of using an underpainting technique specifically for pastel. Introduction to Drawing: Learn the fundamentals of drawing in this introductory class, which includes line, shading, perspective and negative space in a variety of drawing media. Subjects include still life, hands, and portraiture. Suitable for the absolute beginner or those wishing to refresh their drawing skills.
