Swim for Life® / Canadian Swim Patrol Programs


Swim for Life® programs include: Parent & Tot 1-3, Preschool 1-5, Swimmer 1-6, Stroke Improvement, Adult 1-3. Canadian Swim Patrol programs include: Rookie Patrol, Ranger Patrol, Star Patrol. Private Lessons and Stroke Improvement classes are also included in this section.

Lifesaving Society Junior Lifeguard Club


Prerequisites: Ages 8 and up, able to swim 25 m, tread water for 2 minutes, and comfortable in deep water. The Junior Lifeguard Club combines all Canadian Swim Patrol programs in a club-style setting. It builds strong swimming skills and prepares participants for future Bronze Medal awards.

SwimAbilities® Programs


SwimAbilities® programs include: SwimAbilities® Ages 8 & Under, and Ages 16 & Under. These programs provide participants with individualized instruction and support to develop water confidence and swimming skills. A guardian/caregiver is required to participate in the water during all lessons.

Swim To Survive


Swim to Survive teaches self-rescue and lifesaving skills, along with WaterSmart™ education. This course is for all ages and skill levels. Perfect for anyone who spends time around open water or would like to learn the basics of staying afloat. This course has something to offer each person.

Aquatic Leadership & Certification Programs


Aquatic Certification and Leadership Programs include Junior Lifeguard Club, Bronze Medal awards, National Lifeguard, Swim and Lifesaving Instructor courses, and provincially recognized First Aid courses. Registration must be completed in person at a City of Fort Saskatchewan facility or by phone at 780-992-6162.

Preschool Plunge & Play


Preschool Plunge & Play combines physical activity, art, music, stories, snack time, and swimming in a fun and engaging environment. Each class includes a minimum 30-minute pool session designed to build confidence and encourage active participation. Children must be completely toilet trained prior to registration.
