Swim for Life® and Canadian Swim Patrol Programs

Swim for Life® programs include: Parent & Tot 1-3, Preschool 1-5, Swimmer 1-6, Stroke Improvement, Adult 1-3. Canadian Swim Patrol programs include: Rookie Patrol, Ranger Patrol, Star Patrol. Private Lessons and Stroke Improvement classes are also included in this section.

Lifesaving Society Junior Lifeguard Club

Lifesaving Society Junior Lifeguard Club

Prerequisites: Ages 8 and up, able to swim 25 m, tread water for 2 minutes, and comfortable in deep water. The Junior Lifeguard Club combines all Canadian Swim Patrol programs in a club-style setting. It builds strong swimming skills and prepares participants for future Bronze Medal awards.

Harbour Pool offers a wide range of Lifesaving Society Aquatic Certification and Leadership Programs, including: -Junior Lifeguard Club -Bronze Medal Awards -National Lifeguard -Swim and Lifesaving Instructor -Provincially-Recognized First Aid Courses Registration for Aquatic Certification Programs must occur in person at a City of Fort Saskatchewan facility or over the phone at 780-992-6162.

National Lifeguard 6 Classes

Please call to register in this program: 780-992-6162 Prerequisites: 15 years old, Lifesaving Society Bronze Cross award (need not be current), Basic First Aid or higher (need not be current). Aquatic Emergency Care recommended, but not required.

Swim and Lifesaving Instructor

Prerequisite(s): minimum 16 years old and Bronze Cross or higher (need not be current).

This un-parented class combines physical activity, art, music, stories, snack, and of course swimming! Each class includes a minimum half hour pool session. *Children MUST BE COMPLETELY TOILET TRAINED prior to registration*
